After weeks of speculation, and no doubt months of planning, the BBC Radio 1’s Big weekend is finally happening in Carlisle.
Tens of thousands of people will be travelling to the event at Carlisle airport over the weekend of 14-15 May.

Hotels, bed and breakfasts and farmers fields will be brimming with ‘human lemmings’ as the ‘must see’ event happens on the Scottish border.
So for us, a quiet day will be in order, as we avoid the noise, car rage and general hype created by this event for the two leggers.
One weekend – then normality returns
The local newspapers have been full of news of The Big Weekend for weeks now. You know the sort of stories – he said this, she opened that .
Every marketing tool has been taken from the box and used. The local councils have used the event to promote the area, the media have embraced the story to increase readers or viewers and by the celebs themselves to promote an image. However, we have one trick they have all missed – their pets.

Will any of the celebs at this shindig be bringing their pets? If not and they are left at home, what will our fellow woofers be doing whilst their ‘humans’ are away?
We are now starting to take an interest, what will the lamp post gossip be from the Big Weekend?
Here are the headline human acts:
- Lady Gaga,
- Foo Fighters,
- The Black Eyed Peas,
- Bruno Mars,
- Tinie Tempah,
- Plan B,
- The Script,
- Chase & Status,
- Jessie J
And I thought us doggies were given some rediculous names!…Let us know if you spot any of the celebs and their pets in Carlisle via the comments area below.
