Leaving me in charge of the house, mum and dad headed out early on Saturday for an organised tour with friends to the City of York.

It was a great way for the two leggers to have a stress free day out, so they set off east through the fog and over the moors.
Railway museum
Arriving around noon the coach parked up about five minutes walk from the city centre and they headed off in search of the sights and shops.
Sadly I was not allowed on the trip, so stayed home and caught up on some sleep and some sneaky woofs.
Shall we say they were suitably interrogated with my sniffer and asked to explain themselves upon their return.
It turns out that they had quite a day, starting their visit in the town and markets and ended at the National Railway Museum.
Keep Calm and slow your speed
Curiously Mum said she enjoyed looking around all of the heavy machinery at the museum and even remembers train carriages with corridors and slam doors. She must be really old!
Dad’s memories were curiously sparked he said, by a painted red speed restriction sign screwed to a brick wall. It took a while, but then he twigged it was in the same style as the “Keep Calm” posters you see in almost every shop or stuck to many an office wall.
Below you can see some of the pictures they took from their visit: ( Note: click an image for the larger version)
Until next time
