Out and about over the weekend and I noticed that some new marker plates have been installed around Bitts Park in the City.

Featuring a bright red arrow and the text Run England 321 the markers hint at a new trail or path in the City.
Further research on the internet suggests that Run England is the official England Athletics recreational running project which aims to get the whole nation running.
Run England 3-2-1
According to their website, 3-2-1 is Run England’s project which aims to provide a range of marked out running or jogging routes across the country that anyone can have a go at.
“It’s a way of providing a meaningful challenge to help more people to get running when it best suits them,” they say.

The permanently marked running routes are created by a range of local providers and will spring up around the country throughout the year.
Many of the routes are listed on the website in a searchable database. However, a quick check earlier and the Carlisle routes are not yet listed. In fact no routes for Cumbria are shown.
Running groups
Many of my fellow dogs go out with their humans on runs across fells and along paths. So this is a great chance to share our favourite exercise trails.
This project seems to be only just starting so we can get involved and feature some of our favourite journeys right at the beginning. Marker plates can be purchased by running groups and other organisations for a flat fee of £2.40 each.
The aluminium disks measure 3.5″/9cm in diameter and can be attached to immovable objects such as trees, posts and boards to mark out a route.
So go on get your two leggers to publicise your circular paths, trails and walks and let me know how you get on in the comments area below.
Until next time
