Walking through Carlisle City centre this morning I came across what I can describe as a unique art installation.
The latest artwork to appear in the centre of the city features our very own invisible man.
Engineers it seems have worked very hard to enable the project to come to reality and have used heavy lifting equipment to bring the sculpture to site.
I am unsure if this will be a permanent addition to the area.
Human visitors at the top of English Street seemed a little confused with the latest arrival to the pedestrian precinct as they wrestled with the full meaning and concept envisaged by the designer.
Invisible man statue
As yet it is unclear as to who is behind the perfectly transparent work, but no doubt in time a plaque will be erected nearby explaining all.
Personally I wonder if the statue is in anyway linked to the anniversary of the Solway Spaceman who mysteriously appeared in a photograph 50 years ago this week.
