Easter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What a busy few weeks we have had now that the sunshine and dry weather have returned.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of little jobs have been done over recent weeks, so we thought we should give you an update of what we have been up to.<\/p>\n<h2>Easter gift<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3026\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3026\" style=\"width: 203px\" really known for the giving of gifts, however we were delighted to receive a turnip bunny from our nanna human yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Regular readers will know that we love turnip. \u00a0Every evening after tea we have a small slice to clean our teeth before we settle down.<\/p>\n<p>As you can see from the photograph the Easter bunny uses a turnip for the body, pink pipe cleaners for the whiskers and a pair of googly eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Nanna even made some coloured paper ears held in place with a few cocktail sticks.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3018\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3018\" tubes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Before we were allowed any &#8216;rabbit flesh&#8217; mum \u00a0removed of all the items that could cause is harm &#8211; just in case anyone has concerns.<\/p>\n<h3>Sowing seeds<\/h3>\n<p>We have been out in the garden a lot lately helping mum clear away the weeds and planting some seeds.<\/p>\n<p>Although the weather is still a little cold for sitting outside, the floor of the greenhouse is really warm on our tummies.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst mum has been planting seeds on the potting bench, we have curled up on the sun warmed paving stones is trying cardboard tubes from toilet rolls as seed pots. \u00a0You can follow her progress and get many other gardening tips over on <a title=\"Gardening For Health\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gardeningforhealth.com\" target=\"_blank\">gardeningforhealth.com<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Potato shoots<\/h3>\n<p>Seed trays and young plants can be found on many of the windowsills around the house now.<\/p>\n<p>In the kitchen, around 30 small potatoes are lined up in egg box trays, whilst they grow some new shoots.<\/p>\n<p>Called chitting, the process helps the potato grow when mum we should ask if mum could put one of our bones on the windowsill, prior to us burying it in the ground. \u00a0We may then get hundreds of tasty bones to see us through next winter.<\/p>\n<h4>Spring colour in the garden<\/h4>\n<p>Blossom has now appeared on many of the fruit trees and birds have started to make their homes in the nest boxes around our garden.<\/p>\n<p>As the daffodils die back, the rich spring colours have now started to appear on small plants and we have been banned from the upper parts of the garden to help protect them.<\/p>\n<p>During the winter a number of the plants suffered due to the cold and as a result they are needing some extra care. \u00a0To avoid Charlies big feet trampling through the low lying plants, fences have been erected to keep us play area, however the long term benefits of new sniffs and things to play with should increase.<\/p>\n<h3>Easter lamb<\/h3>\n<p>Mum and dad have been doing a few walks and adventures by themselves recently. \u00a0These outings have allowed them to visit places where we are not allowed or where other animals are around.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3019\" Preston called <a title=\"Cobble Hey Farm &amp; Gardens article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gardeningforhealth.com\/contents1a\/2011\/04\/cobble-hey-plants-for-shade\/\"><strong>Cobble Hey<\/strong><\/a>. \u00a0Here they saw some rare breed animals and loads of flowers and plants in the gardens.<\/p>\n<h3>Aira Force near Ullswater<\/h3>\n<p>On their way back from a business meeting in the Lake District mum and dad stopped off to visit the waterfall called Aira Force.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, the guilt set in as this is an ideal place to take us, so they wished they had us with them.
