You’ll need to press the reset button around 4-6 times until the LED inside the sensor lights up solidly and then start to double flash.

Please now reconnect sensor to the same wire on your electricity meter

Now insert the power supply back into your display and while holding the bottom ‘adjust’ button down, press the top ‘menu’ button four times. The display will then flash white and clear, before returning to displaying the pulsating blue antennae.

Your display will now reconnect to your sensor and begin displaying your electricity consumption within 30 seconds.

Reset the EnergySmart unit

We have to admit that dad did try the above instructions two or three times before both units started talking.

All seems to be working once more and, as we type up this blog post, he is busy re-entering all of the settings such as the time and cost per unit. It would really be an improvement if gadgets like this could remember settings when batteries fail.

Until next time

Buster and Charlie

When our British Gas EnergySmart monitor stopped working dad had to ask for help as he could not work out how to reset it.

[681,6
49,51,4687,4666,4668,4683,4011,4676,4678,4670,4681,4690,956,4679,4665,4667,4584,2374,4966,4688,4689,4685,4684,4672,4675,4673,4671,4682,4691,4988
post-4399","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-featured","category-gadgets-and-boys-toys","tag-amazon-co-uk","tag-amazon-uk","tag-battery-replacement","tag-british-energy","tag-british-gas","tag-cables","tag-clamps","tag-cupboard","tag-electricity-energy","tag-electricity-meter","tag-electricity-usage","tag-energysmart","tag-gadget","tag-gas-electricity","tag-gas-energy","tag-gas-monitor","tag-investigations","tag-led","tag-lights","tag-lithium","tag-lithium-battery","tag-lithium-cr2","tag-mains","tag-menu-button","tag-power-supply","tag-reset-button","tag-sensor-lights","tag-transmitter-unit","tag-unit-displays","tag-website","entry
https://www.ablogfrommydog.com/contents1a/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/british_gas_energy_monitor-600x400.jpg
https://www.ablogfrommydog.com/contents1a/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/british_gas_energy_monitor-600x600.jpg
["GET
