Big Kid circus in Carlisle

You will go to the circus ….

Between you and me, mum is is really good to me. However, if I play up at times mum threatens to send me to the circus.

Possibly your mum says a similar thing, but this morning I thought she really was going to do it.

Arriving in the Devonshire Walk Car Park in Carlisle I was surprised to see a really large tent being erected and lots of hammering and banging.

The circus really is in town and maybe this was it. I was off to join the performers.

Thankfully we were only parking the car before walking into nearby Bitts Park. We did however stop for a few moments to take stock of the amount of work that goes into building such a large covered arena.

Large pegs had been nailed into the tarmac and grass areas surrounding the marquee to which guy ropes and other assorted slings had been attached.

It was amazing to learn that the Big Kid Circus opens in the City later tonight as many of the trucks were still being unloaded.

Looking on their website, many of the acts come from the Ukraine.  This area has been the feature of many news bulletins over recent weeks due to political changes in the country.

Hopefully the show and the start of their 10th season, will be well supported during their stay in the City. Good luck to all involved.

Until next time, licks and wags

Charlie

Yes it was. They had pitched up on the end of the Devonshire Car park in Carlisle.
It is very observant of you to spot they have a different tent. Do you follow them?
